This course provides Microsoft Windows NT® 4.0 support professionals
with the strategy and skills necessary to prepare a Windows NT 4.0-based
network for migration to the Microsoft Windows® 2000 operating system.
The course will leverage the student's existing administration and support
skills to present a strategy of best practices that, when deployed, will
best prepare computers and networks for Windows 2000. The course is a combination
of instruction and hands-on labs.
At the end of the course, students will be able to:

Outline a strategy for preparing computers running Microsoft Windows NT
4.0 operating system for migration to Windows 2000.

Streamline an existing Windows NT directory services infrastructure.

Update and streamline the networking protocols used in a Windows NT-based
network.

Install Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4.

Implement selected features included with Service Pack 4.

Configure computers running Windows NT Workstation 4.0 and computers running
Windows NT Server 4.0 to prepare for the move to Windows 2000.

Deploy Windows NT Workstation 4.0 to existing client computers.

1- Introduction
This course provides Microsoft Windows NT® 4.0 support professionals

3- Prerequisites
Before beginning this course, students should:
Have completed Course 803, Administering Microsoft Windows NT 4.0,
or have equivalent skills and knowledge; this includes creating user accounts
and groups, administering user accounts, creating roaming user profiles,
configuring home directories, and administering shared folders.
Have completed Course 922, Supporting Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Core
Technologies, or have equivalent skills and knowledge; this includes installing
and configuring Windows NT, managing Windows NT 4.0 directory services,
creating and implementing system policies, and installing and configuring
network protocols and services.
Have experience supporting networks and end users.
The course materials, lectures, and lab exercises are in English. To
benefit fully from the instruction, students need an understanding of the
English language and completion of the prerequisites.
